Scholarship Recipients

Emma Emma is from Pennsylvania. She has a passion for the arts, as evidenced by her numerous endeavors, including writing plays. Her senior project was writing a play about her life as someone with significant hearing loss, and this has since been staged in a theater.

Emma was a straight A student in high school. She has been involved in many activities in the arts. She has involved with the Philadelphia young playwrights, has tutored other writers at workshops, been involved in several writing camps and meetings, and played the first violin in her high school orchestra. She also has received multiple awards, including 1st place in the National History Day Philadelphia competition.

Emma will be attending Smith College in Massachusetts. She plans a career as a writer, perhaps as a playwright.
